Human-centred
Learning starts with the person: motivation, prior knowledge, goals, context and agency.
We are building Human Learning Engineering as a rigorous interdisciplinary field for designing learning systems around people, evidence, context and responsible technology.

Learning should not begin with content. It should begin with the person who must learn.

Human Learning Engineering integrates learning science, psychology, design, data, technology and human development to build learning systems that are adaptive, measurable and meaningful.
Its object is not merely a course, a platform or a methodology. Its object is the complete learning system: the learner, the context, the goals, the sequence, the experience, the feedback and the conditions that make transfer possible.
Learning starts with the person: motivation, prior knowledge, goals, context and agency.
Models and interventions should be testable, observable and improved through evidence.
The path can change according to the learner, the situation and the learning objective.
AI and data are used to augment learning, never to displace human judgment and responsibility.
APA is conceived as a framework for identifying how a person approaches learning and for designing a pathway that better fits the learner, the objective and the context.
It connects diagnosis, personalization, sequencing, practice, feedback and transfer. In HLEI, APA is positioned as a central research and development line within Human Learning Engineering.

HLEI is conceived as the place where Human Learning Engineering is defined, researched, documented, debated and translated into professional practice.
The institute’s long-term role is to connect academic knowledge with real learning challenges, create methodological standards, publish frameworks and establish credible professional pathways.
A future HLEI professional pathway can connect knowledge, supervised practice, evidence of competence and certification in a progressive architecture.

Human learning, motivation, transfer and system thinking.
Personal learning analysis and pathway architecture.
Design and facilitation of human-centred learning systems.
Real cases, supervision, evidence and reflective practice.
Professional recognition against explicit competence standards.
HLEI is designed for a multilingual international community of researchers, educators, learning architects, facilitators, organizations and institutions.

Our ambition is to make Human Learning Engineering a rigorous, useful and internationally connected discipline capable of improving how people learn throughout life.
